Artist Ingrid Rollema made sculptures that were created for their shadows. With this work she wants to make us aware that in these times we are all looking at different shadows of the same reality, but we are taking these shadows for the reality. In this way we lose touch with people who see things from a different angle and are driven away from each other by this polarisation.
I have worked wirth Ingrid to design and build a rotating shadowmaking machine so the standing sculpture would create a whole room of different moving shadows that take over the space and literally overshadow the small sculpture from which they originate.
