Since 2016 I have been working for HOPE Foundation as an artists, educator and production manager.
HOPE is offering inventive lessons in the fields of art and culture in Gaza and other countries. It aims to empower children in conflict areas to build a meaningful life for themselves and envisions a future where children are able to cope with the effects of war in the best way possible. We do that by connecting with local artists who are motivated to work with children and then support them in the projects they propose and want to develop.
Until October 2023 HOPE supported an Open Studio where hundreds of kids would come daily for all kinds of activities, an academy for young talent, a breakdance academy, a social media art club and many amazing summercamps.
Of course everything changed after October 2023. But what didn’t change was the motivation of local artists to develop projects for children. To our amazement many proposals came in and lots of amazing activities have taken place and are still happening these days.
I feel incredibly blessed to know so many amazing people in Gaza and be a small part of bringing smiles to children in unliveable circumstances.
